Our Teaching and Learning Framework is designed to foster deep, transformative learning experiences that connect students with the natural environment. Our approach is rooted in educational theories such as Constructivism, Social Constructivism, and Experiential Learning, and is guided by the Australian Curriculum. We focus on creating student-centred learning journeys that encourage active engagement, collaboration, and reflection. Students are motivated to take ownership of their learning by stepping out of their comfort zones, participating in problem-solving and decision-making, and connecting with the natural world through exploration, play, and discovery. Our programs are flexible and tailored to meet the diverse needs of learners, promoting inclusivity and positive behaviours towards others and the environment.
Through activities such as inquiry-based learning, place-based education, and hands-on experiences, students develop critical and creative thinking, ethical understanding, and intercultural awareness. We aim to inspire curiosity, tenacity, and a sense of adventure while fostering personal and social capabilities. By engaging in reflective practices, students are encouraged to assess their own progress, share their experiences, and embrace new perspectives. Our framework seeks to nurture a positive self-image, a deeper understanding of the world, and a commitment to sustainable and respectful interactions with the environment and others.
