Residential programs
The Tallebudgera Outdoor & Environmental Education Centre’s Beach School Campus is a popular destination for year 6 students in state primary schools across Queensland and demand for places in the residential programs exceeds our capacity. The current capacity of the Centre is 192 beds for visiting students, teachers and supporting adults for 39 weeks of the school year.
In order to maximize the number of school groups we are able to accommodate each year our staff evaluate expressions of interest for a booking using the following criteria.
- Preference given to Year 6 students (our traditional client group)
- Preference given to Monday to Friday – 4 Night Camp requests
- Preference given to schools that have submitted an expression of interest for the following year by the end of August
- Preference given to groups or clusters of schools that approximate our accommodation maximum allocation (eg. clusters of schools or western and remote schools)
- Individual group / school size that in combination approximate our accommodation maximum allocation
Teachers are able to submit expressions of interest for residential camps any time during the year for the following year. Our staff will begin the evaluation and allocation process from the 1st September each year and will be notifying successful schools from the beginning of Term 4 for the following year.
Day excursion programs
Expressions of interest for day excursion programs can be made at any time and our staff will make contact with teachers to negotiate appropriate dates and times.
