56 years of Learning Journeys

The Tallebudgera Outdoor and Environmental Education Centre (TOEEC) is a Queensland Department of Education owned facility located in the Queensland Recreation Centre - Gold Coast on the banks of Tallebudgera Creek and North Palm Beach Queensland.

The Tallebudgera O&EEC was the first outdoor or environmental education centre to be established by the Department of Education in 1966 and began operations in March 1967.  Since that time over more than 395 000 primary school students and 25 000 classroom teachers have accessed the education programs provided by the Centre's experienced teaching staff.

From the beginning the Centre staff have worked exclusively with state school students in their final year of primary school education, a tradition that continues today with priority given to students in year 6 for our residential camp program.

Our programs are aligned to the Australian and Queensland curriculum and engage students in learning through direct experiences with the natural environment and participating in an adventurous journey.
